This policy sets out how cargo is accepted, handled, cleared and delivered by Genie Delivery. It complements our Terms of Service and applies to all shipments we arrange.
1. Acceptable cargo
We carry general and commercial cargo across sea, air and road. Certain goods are restricted or prohibited (for example, illegal items, unmanifested dangerous goods, perishables without proper handling). Dangerous goods must be declared and comply with IATA, IMDG and local regulations.
2. Packaging & labelling
Cargo must be packed to withstand normal transit and clearly labelled with accurate origin, destination and handling information. Genie is not liable for damage arising from inadequate packaging by the shipper.
3. Customs & documentation
Import and export shipments require accurate commercial invoices, packing lists and any permits. Our brokerage team manages clearance, but delays or penalties caused by missing or incorrect documentation are the shipper’s responsibility.
4. Transit times & delays
Transit times are estimates and may be affected by weather, customs inspections, carrier schedules and events beyond our control. We keep you informed via live tracking and proactively manage exceptions.
5. Insurance & claims
All-risk cargo insurance is available at booking and strongly recommended. Claims for loss or damage must be notified promptly and supported by evidence. Uninsured cargo is carried subject to the liability limits in our Terms of Service and applicable conventions.
6. Delivery & handover
Delivery is completed on handover at the nominated address, confirmed by signature or proof of delivery. If delivery cannot be completed, we will contact you to arrange redelivery or storage, which may incur additional charges.
